Dean graduated high school from New Mexico Military Institute (N.M.M.I.) in 1976 and by February 1977 found his niche as a tile setters helper, then setter, then owner. In 1983 Parks Custom Tile Company was created.

In 1993 Dean put his business on hold and accepted an offer for a position with Stockett Tile Co. to manage the tile division, while the owner focused on growing a slab department.

In 2001, Dean accepted a general managers position with Bell Stone Company to build a tile division on the existing slab business.

After 11 years with Bell, directions once again changed and he found himself ready to write the next chapter of his tile career. In January 2013, Parks Tile & Stone, LLC was formed.

Dean is a charter member and past president of the Ceramic Tile and Stone Association of Arizona. He continues to participate with this local association to stay current with trends in the industry as well as keeping up with the latest installation technologies.
